- The Pearl of Malagasy Ruby: Spicy Deli invites you to sublimate your dishes and desserts with its Madagascar pink berries also called "Pearls of Ruby". The pink berry is not spicy. On the nose, it gives off a sweet pepper smell. In mouth the Madagascar pink berries deliver warm and sweet bitter flavors. Our berries are whole and shimmering pink.
- Its history: Pink berries are native to South America. There are two species which are "Schinus terebenthifolius" and "Schinus molle". It is a tree that can reach fifteen meters high that was introduced by the Creole settlers and grows on the east coast of Madagascar. For practical reasons, the tree is limited to three meters. The bunches of berries will become more and more pink as they ripen. They will then be harvested, dried and deseeded by hand.
- Advice of use: The Madagascar pink berries are used rather as a final touch than during cooking. Pass a little pink berries to the pestle or the mill on your preparations and the magic operates...
